Just coming up the A5 this morning near Crick truckstop, and the Stobart driver in front who is turning in decides to block the road (not using the central refuge kindly provided by the highways authority) to let his mate (who is coming out Northbound) pull out, only problem is there was not a gap for his mate to pull out so we all had to wait behind this arrogant [zb] until it was convenient for his mate to pull out. For the sake of a few extra minutes why don’t Northbound drivers turn left and down to the roundabout? Rant over

didums defensive driving
I presume this is all the worse because it was an ESL driver?
I’ve been held up in similar situations in the past, at other hauliers yards, whilst a mate / colleague or indeed fellow drive decided to let his mate / colleague or indeed fellow driver out…
If that’s all that’s ruined your day, think yourself lucky mate!
I’d have probably done the same.
Not worse, it just happened to be a Stobart vehicle, the driver of which finds it acceptable to bring about twenty other vehicles to a halt behind him whilst his mate has to wait for a gap in southbound traffic. Hardly showing much consideration for other road users.
And breath ! calm down man there’s far more important things to stress about in the world
That’s a horrible pull out even when empty. And you’ve got a climb in front of you.
Hat’s off to that driver - hope someone does it for me sometime!

Maybe, just maybe, you should be having a pop at the inconsiderate s/b drivers for not easing up and letting one in and one out?

Really, this is absurd. He was helping a mate out and you seem to want to hang him from a lamppost as a result. May nobody ever slow down and help you when you’re struggling to pull out of somewhere.
Not really “breathtaking” is it.

Exactly! Had it of been whites, Transam etc, the driver would of been praised for helping out a fellow trucker.
Breathtaking IGNORANCE from the OP more like. If this’ d been a pair of plain white artics outside an anonymous industrial unit the event wouldn’tve been posted on here. With the exception of the crap tv show, bashing Stobarts is getting pathetic on here.
I’ve done it for one of our drivers on the A17 near QV foods Holbeach, you can sit at that junction for 15 minutes waiting to turn right (I know I’ve done it) I just flashed when I saw him and knocked the cc off job done.
A truck is a truck does it matter if it’s an esl one the bloke was using his brain doing what he done some people really need to grow up wiv this hang up about esl

I just said it was a Stobart truck, I was in a car, but if he had just used his mirrors it would have fairly easy to work out that he could have turned in without stopping, and that a suitable gap for his mate was about to materialise anyway. I am never in any rush to get to work, just amazed at the manoeuvre.

Again, this ‘manoeuvre’ was probably him just being considerate to his colleague by letting him go first. If you and some other people had to wait, tough. The roads are there for everyone, not just you and the other people who were delayed a few seconds.
But if there was ‘a suitable gap about to materialise’, then why did you write this in your first post:

There was no gap Northbound or Southbound when the driver turning in got to the entrance so holding up the Northbound traffic was no help at all.

Other road users probably don’t show consideration for the driver in question, what goes around comes around…
This is extract from highway code
Turning right
179
Well before you turn right you should
use your mirrors to make sure you know the position and movement of traffic behind you
give a right-turn signal
take up a position just left of the middle of the road or in the space marked for traffic turning right
leave room for other vehicles to pass on the left, if possible.
