I really think you’d have to be very nieve to think that there aren’t drivers who tip whilst on break, even hourly pay there’s still a lot who just want to get the job done ASAP and go home.
A lot work on the theory WERE STOBARTS WE DO WHAT WE WANT,being on a green light helps as well

Some company’s obviously do not conform to the FTA code of practice edition 2002
I only lasted 36minutes until I was asked to leave. This is the problem with this industry, fta codes of practise.dcpc, h+s, etc, we are not allowed to think for ourselves because we are all
thick as pig crap
truck drivers who need every bit ofhelp
we can get.
Dude, I don’t think truck drivers are being singled out, loads, maybe most industries have codes of practice, on going training and h+s to deal with. It doesn’t mean we’re thick as ■■■■.

Except when he pulled up at the dealer the voice over says after a short break he unloads the cars, all sorted!!I thought he said “After a short Wee Break” (referring to Gareth’s need for a Jimmy riddle.)
Surely, thats ‘Other Work’
INFRINGEMENT ALERT !
The narrator said “after a wee break” - he unloaded the vehicles. It didn’t say how long the break was. But still, they did say a break was taken.
Sounds like quite a few of us are still watching this program and hating every moment!

What channel is it on I’ll try and catch it on catch up…
I’ve just tucked up in bed, an need some entrainment lol exciting life ain’t it?
Make your mind up, either watch stobarts, or be entertained, you can’t have both
Just as well your here for the entertainment then ay?
Seriously, that did tickle me thought!
As Paul Weller once said/sang…“That’s Entertainment”
And another thing …how many times was the son of Mr Tinkler referred to as ‘totally inexperienced’ poor sod!!! Narrator must’ve said he’s inexperienced twenty + times…ok we get the message!!!
It’s a crap show really…drives my missus crazy.
I watch for the ■■■■-ups/non-compliance(s) as per this thread. A few series ago the girl - Lisa I think - had a headlamp out for a couple of night shifts out of Newark!!!
Why does any one on here watch it?

I realy dont understand it we all know its not realistic its a lightharted show which is probaly one of the only positive advertisments hgv driving gets shown in to the public.
Is trawlermen or the dealiest cathch realistic. I have no idea im not or dont know any deep sea fisherman.
As someone else said what do you want to sit and watch the driver eat his lunch and read the paper for 45 minutes.
He knows the job from the drivers point of view, trust me he will always refer to the fact he has got C+E, is that a good point ?
I would answer yes, but from a company’s chain of command point of view, it will be used to the absolute maximum as an excuse to exploit drivers later on.

Gaffers son’s are like gaffers…some are good uns…some are bad uns. I don’t think you can judge him at such an early stage. Fair play to him for getting outta bed early in a morning & doing a shift (for cameras - perhaps??), plenty of gaffers sons won’t even do this!!!
Fair play to Adam,
I,ve been to quick to judge him, but I have seen others turn into right evil so and so’s.
Surely if hes on 4.29hrs drive he can unload on other work & then have a break then TURN & BURN■■?
It’s a sad man that drives a truck for a living then watches TV programs about truck driving FFS.
Almost as sad as watching ‘Ice road truckers’
voodoo1:
I don’t have anti anything, just simply making the fact that the commentator said ‘he must have a break by law’ due to his driving hours by then shows unloading lorry and then ‘30 mins later he is on his way’ so obviously he worked a break, and isn’t good advertising the fact about drivers breaking law.
And that was a scene shot with no camera cuts or edit cuts at all?
Pat Hasler:

Nearly as sad as man who’s from the uk but lives in the usa
voodoo1:
has 30 mins whilst unloading a car, on tonights if you check (the car transporter bit) lol.How does he get away with it being broadcasted ?
Quote from the programme with driving time on 4.29 it says - after a wee break he unloads 3 cars - so where is the tipping on break?

the lad is keen, perhaps too keen at times! Of I was in his shoes if fancy dad being me a nice euro job, or f1 etc. A young lad wanting to start out on timber… Well fair play to him
