The long-winded takeover of Autologic by Stobart cleared the final hurdles of shareholder approval and court proceedings yesterday.
Never understood the interest in Stobart spotting as all their vehicles look essentially the same, a tent on wheels. Wait till all the weirdos start seeing Stobart car transporters. Heaven help us!
The spotters will LOVE it. “ooh look, it’s a wheelbase engineering 12 over 4 but look at the silly mistake they have made loading it” they will be talking about it for ages in the secure unit.
I’m taking pictures of them while they are still Autologic. I never bothered much until I realised they were going. Once they turn green I won’t be interested.
Slab Murphy:
What do Stobart know about car transporting, rumour has it they are after Woodsides over here.
prob the same as they new about log transport but they still went into that… no offence to stobarts or anyone working for them but stobarts will go into anything that can make them a pound… regardless of if they know anything about it… will they change the livery of the trucks or do that same as they done with the knauff (spelling) wagons they had and just put the ladys name on the truck

Driving for Autologic, all of a sudden I’ve noticed a lot of strange people with cameras and notebooks singling me out for attention…

I would imagine that in a few years time all the new trucks will be coming out in a Stobart livery, but I can’t see them re-branding the current fleet as their own, being as proud of corporate image as they are. You have to remember that they’ve brought a company with around 500 trucks for £12.4 million, which tells you a little bit about how old the fleet is. Added to that, Autologic have brought out a few other transporter companies in recent years (Spirit, MCD / Autocarriers, Sensible), meaning the fleet looks a bit like the United Nations…
Personally, however, I’d rather drive around in an old truck for a good wage, than a new truck for a crap one…

Seen the Doncaster (ex) Tescos lads are in green already and all their units have a Eddie Stobart T[fleet no.] on the cab door already. Didn’t take them long for that…
I have never knocked Stobarts, nor have I ever commented on the numerous threads that have appeared on here, over the years I have been here.
I have just watched and listened.
I am fed up with reading and listening now.
The only thing Stobarts are good for, is the Trans Siberian Railroad.

There won’t be a drivers pay cut IMO, the new owner will soon find out that you can’t put just anyone in a transporter, its not just the vehicle body operation, they drive differently to everything else on the road.
A few of us ex’s that work togther on tanks have a bit of a theory how ES might change the operation so they could use less skilled staff, but i’m not going to say anything now as they might not have thought of it themselves yet, it won’t work long term anyway, cos you still need proper drivers to keep 'em upright.

You are forgetting about the creamy mess on the new car seats too
