What a joke and what a dump what a rip off
The food
quality and portions= crap, price=expencive
But atleast the toilet and shower bolck is half decent
I only say half coz there boiler has some kind of thermostat solenoid issue and when it gets to hot it cuts out and no hot water
Will the gaffer ever spend the money on sorting it out
And speeking of the big man who owns the other truck stop a few miles down the road
A few years ago we had a big big fall out
But I just like to pop in now and again (when Im desprate and out of time
) to see how he is doing LOL
well funny enough he is never there
But I remember that same old dump before he ever bought it
had a decent menu on
Had a bar in the far corner that was swarming with beer flies
How all thats gone and its a bigger dum now
So why no more beer flies any more
But on the bright side if you dont mind a 2 minute walk you can park down the road for free
And it actually is a much more peaceful tranquil scenes then the grotty filthy lorry park
I guess One could park up hear in the countryside and sneek into the showers with out paying with out anyone seeing if one was of that creed
Well I stayed there 12 years ago and it was an overpriced dump. Diabolical food and miserable attitudes. They couldn’t even be bothered to pave the surface of the truck park. I cannot say whether they have changed or not for the better but I went past the Stibbington site the day before Christmas Eve whilst taking my niece to a Santa special at Nene Valley Railway.
When we left it was dark. I glanced across to the truckstop and it was still the same unpaved lunar surface with moving wagons rocking and rolling. The building looked as lost in the 70s as ever, with poor souls peering glumly into their dinners under harsh electric lighting.
I’ve always had decent food at Stibbington, I nearly always stopped there when on a flour run round East Anglia/Leicestershire. Yes the surface is bumpy, didn’t bother me too much as A. I was always knackered and hungry when I got there and B. A tipper driver’s used to potholes. One of the birds behind the counter there has a stonking pair on her too, much better to admire the view than sitting the other way watching Pointless.
I like it, it reminds me of my six month stay at her majesty’s hotel, grim and grimy, but without Raymond the ■■■■■■■ for company, it just doesn’t compare.
Been about 3 times in 20 years…■■■■■ food the first time ,the other 2 was giving the the place another chance …still crap food
I used to park there when it was a fiver but not since they put it up to a tenner ■■■■ that! The pizzas they do on a night were nice though.
Stopped using this about 40 years ago. It was cr4p then
LOL, my mates on his way there tonight, he reckons the snap is sound but he is getting on a bit.
Think I’m going to have to give his head a shake.
Bet its on the snap account.

Last time I stopped there was about 35 years ago when it was called the easy eater - my dad always used to take s break there on his way back from Sheffield on s Friday night. Was cracking food then!
scaniason Thanks for making me feel REALLY old
well a mixture of opinions then
Freight Dog:

SWEDISH BLUE:
scaniason Thanks for making me feel REALLY old
You’re welcome [emoji4] if it helps, I was about 11 at the time!
It is what it is for me, I reckon the lamb dinner with all the veg & gravy trimmings is one of the best around, as for the yard, yeah they could make it all nice & smooth for the more delicate lorry drivers, but then that’s gonna add to the price !
Showers ain’t the best, but 5 min down the road at the A1/605 junction there’s the nicely paved & tarmacced maccy D services at around £25 a night.
You make Ya choice
