ive applied for steve benton birmingham and downton in gloucester…any one got any info on these two…does steve benton do tramping…think downton does well i hope they do

thinking on mac’s do have a very good yard and better than sherburn.

Yep, JD is right, i spent the best part of 2 years on for Downton’s, although i was based out of Dunstable ratehr than Gloucester and our pay structure differed slightly.
Where are you gonna be based from??
From memory, Gloucester drivers were on £7.75 an hour all the way thru, £23 a night out and they got a meal allowance too. The hours were there for the taking, it was a case of tell them what you want to do and they would accomadate you(Gloucester used to expect you to tip and load 1 load a day. IE - Leave Gloucester, tip Enfield, reload Tilbury for somewhere else. Run up the road and park up to tip the following day). They always sed to pay your parking with no arguments, you had to pay it then claim it back. There was a rumour of them getting a flot but i dont know if it materialised. Fuel cards were all Keyfuels. Lots of Magazine work, mainly Fastmag and Comag, but a fair it of Wines and Spirits out of Matthew Clarkes at Pilning as well.
Dunstable was a different story, The traffic mamager there was push push push all the time, and although you could top £550 a week in the bank, you would be doing max hours every day and a full day on a saturday or sunday to achieve it. That was part of the reason i left.
If i needed a job urgently, then i would go back there with no major problems.

,i feel safer parking in Sherburn than parking by Macfarlane’s in Leeds.
Sherburn has been expanded and the wash is just being finished off,should be ready by the end of the month,its a lovely clean depot,Wakefield has closed,we just use it for the odd trailer change now and all the Coke has moved out to Sherburn.
Seriously though i heard the rumour for the first time yesterday in Livingston and i’ve not heard anything yet.

i havent been to sherburn for a quite a few years now all the agency work i did was out of wakefield. when i went to the sherburn depot it was just a gravel yard with portacabins in it.
Truckwash being installed and good clean showers and Toilets usually anyway

Yes Sherburn is coming up in the world,pity the toerag who vandalised the all important vending machine’s over the weekend,might spoil it for us though.
