As an expert in the truck driving industry in North America I often wonder why so many of their drivers are so typical of what the general public considers a truck driver to be.I have been in Flying J’s and Petro truck stops you have to see to believe.Drivers so fat they take ten minutes to climb in and out of their cabs.Drivers that obviously have not showered in three weeks.You can smell them coming a mile away.Try talking to them and every second word is a swear word.Then they all seem to wear cowboy hats and have a wallet with a bright chain hanging from it.Of course don’t forget the cowboy boots.In North America they all communicate using Ch.19 on the C.B.It is beyond belief what passes for conversation on there.The mind boggling stupidity is overwhelming.The point is,why would any of these people expect to earn a decent living when they show that these jobs are filled by cretins?I know that the British are not nearly as ignorant as their Canadian and American counterparts but if you want to earn a decent living here then it is important that driving a truck is not a last resort job for fools.The way to do this is to elevate the job by bringing in a better ,more intelligent breed of driver.

Well, as a self proclaimed “expert” on the truck driving industry in North America, im sure your observations will be much read by many on here and no doubt a few of Trucknets “non-expert” brit drivers who are roaming the highways and byeways of Canada and the US will comment as such!!!
