Bugger that didn’t last long. The NISA RDC and Two Sisters Chicken stand on the old site now.
The other Scunthorpe site was Appleby Frodingham before BSC, Corus and the Indians.

Was it Lysaghts on the top of the bank above the old Nypro plant at Flixborough or was that Redbourne? There was a company in one of them called Lane Brothers that refined crude benzole into naphtha, toluene and xylene and I loaded out of there late 60s.They also started or had something to do with starting a company called Benzene Transport that worked out of Staveley Chemicals, probably in league with BSC when the steelworks were nationalized.

I am going to guess that it was Redbourn up on the bank. Only because of the original name. Redbourn Hill Coal & Iron Works.
This video brought tears to my eyes. Maybe someone will recognise themselves.
Hi Malc thanks for that I took one of the first D 8s to the Anchor site I think there was about 4 of us and we were stuck on the road as nobody was on site to open the gates to the field until the police informed them there was four wagons with D 8s and blade on causing a traffic jam on the A18 I reckon this was 68 maybe 69
cheers Johnnie

It was Lysaghts overlooking Flixborough. Redbourne was down Dawes Lane, just passed the old engine sheds.
