6. Enjoy! This will be your last drive around Leicester. Enjoy it!

  1. watch out around leicester for a yellow car with ROG on the number plate cos that is deffo one to avoid !!

They all look like very good points.

Best of luck with your retest and let’s see a pass this time .

I take it that Leicester is not your favourite location. I wonder, if that is the case, whether you are working yourself up that its that horrible drive around Leicester again.

yeah rog could do with adding that one

Errmmm let me see, I wouldn’t say it was not my favourite location, I think it’s more to do with least familiar location which was making me worry about the routes, do I know where I am, tricky spots near certain landmarks, then thinking about which route= which landmark etc, so ended up worrying about it so much it effected my drive and I am determined not to let it happen again, sod the route etc just drive as I have been trained and practised. I just spent too much time thinking about the wrong things I suppose but not this time, no way.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head as that was going to be my follow up.

Don’t get stressed about Leicester. Take the block of 20 seconds at a time approach and you’ll be fine.

Have you taken the opportunity to drive around leicester in your car ?

Have you taken the opportunity to drive around leicester in your car ?

No rog, I do not think that would help me now in all honesty, it would just make me start thinking about routes too much, I know the parts that are often problematic to trainees, so feel that is practised enough.

Plus been too busy at home with personal things anyway so would not have been able to.

Feel it is not the actual routes/Leicester which was the problem, more me over thinking everything including routes etc and putting too much pressure on myself.

Failed, clipped a cone on the reverse. Carried on with the drive ended up with 8 minors and 2 serious ( blind spots and reverse) examiner later told me I am turning my head but not far enough, think I am rushing the move off. Later a car decided to do a u turn on a mini round about without indicating whilst I was checking my right side and examiner had to stop me and gave me a dangerous , he later said chances of that happening was 1000 to 1. At that point was worked up.
Minors was 2 gears, 2 safety moving off, 2 control moving off, 1 use of mirrors changing direction, 1 traffic lights response.

I am not happy for reasons I am not going into on here but in any case do not think I am going to do another retest with the trainers.

Not giving up though

If you are now used to the leicester test centre and wish to change schools then I suggest DATA ACADEMY would be well worth a call

I have passed my class c training.

As some people know I won a free class 1 course with John at flair training and after all the trouble I had been having John kindly agreed to change it to class 2.

So the training started on the 4th march with a test on 7th march, all the training went trouble free and John even managed to sort my head/ confidence out which I can assure you is no easy task, I have to say in all honesty John is an excellent trainer and I cannot fault him or flair training in any way.

Anyway test day came and I failed with 5 minors and three serious, all the serious was picked up on one roundabout in the last 5 minutes of the test, my mistake getting into the wrong lane, didn’t signal and panicked , didn’t proceed quick enough missed a massive gap and messed my lane discipline up, 3 serious signal, lane discipline and undue hesitation. All my fault not johns.

So John got me a quick retest for yesterday 18th march and passed with 4 minors.

I have to say I would recommend John at flair training to anyone, in fact I will be seeing John soon for my class 1.

So I have to say a big thank you to John and the guys that picked me for the free training.

Ps can a mod add passed to the tread title thanks, doesn’t matter figured out how to do it

Well Done mate.

Did you get the Mod 4 as well?

Very well done! It was clearly worth the effort. All the best with CE. Pete
