well as some of you know i got laid off from tnt back at the end of the summer, so no more trips to italy and hareing around france like a loon.
i have now moved as well (well moved in with my girlfriend bless her, gluten for punishment and all that ) to the department of la creuse (23).
so after having had a couple of months off i thought it was about time i got back to work. i was due to start with nobbies today but since i moved i was told that i now lived to far away BUGGER!! but as i turns out i now dont want to be away all week.
so what to do?
had a phone around, got the usual send us a cv, and plenty of were not looking dear john responses, so only one thing for it, back on agency.
i have signed on with addecco at geuret.
last week i was supposed to do a weeks tipping on the roads jobs, i turned up at 7am as instructed to be givern the keys for an old bonneted 6x4 renault which was knackered to be polite!!
there had been the usual balls up so only did monday, i wasnt a happy trucker to say the least
get a call from the office on friday telling me to go and see a man that afternoon, so duely turn up, have a chat and told to be at the yard for 11am.
so this morning tip up, get kitted out and go aroud to the truck.
it is a 6x2 hook load twingo with an a frame trailor, and i am hauling all the waste products from animals, no not maure the bones, guts and other nastys from the slaughtering process.
we get loaded and away we go over to st pourcain in dept 03 allier.
arrive at the factory, i get lessons on how to work the loading gear empty the bins, hose them out, reload, weigh out and back to the yard.
apart from the smell all i can say is what a doddle!!
it is money for old rope, no stress and well paid.
should be there for about 6 weeks as the other driver fell off the wagon and broke his wrist!!
so tommorrow is another 11am start and if like today should be done by 18.30.
will try to get some pics, but it may be a grusome for some members with a fragile dispositon!!
right off to bed, work in the morning!!

Keep practicing…suddenly it will kick in then you will wonder what all the fuss is about…honestly, they`re a doddle when you get the hang of them.
Good luck with the job…but dont worry about the smell though…france has been like that for years…and you do get used to it…
i am doing my hiab cert on the 5th of jan, only down side i will have to work every other sat morning
the smell you soon get used to, it is the rest the turns me stomach
as for going backwards i dont have to that much, it is a drive in drive out job.
the only real pain is swapping bins, dropping trailor and rehooking it back up when tipped and clean. it would be a whole lot quicker using a tipping trailor on a tractor unit, would gain time and about another 5ton but what do i know i am only a driver!!
