cant wait to get out there and do it now, already set a goal of obtaining my c+e within the next 2 months.

I usually recommend doing 2 to 3 months on C before going for CE and doing at least 1 hour of driving in each week like you were on test but in this current climate it may be impossible for newbies to get that experience so if you can afford it - GO FOR IT

Congratulations!

Its true what ROG said about waiting but I couldnt wait!.

I started class 1 training 3 days after my license came back from DVLA.I had 2 days of training with my test on the 3rd.I even to the same examiner!!

He just said “Bloody hell.you dont hang about”!-but I still passed!

Got my license back 2 weeks later on Monday and on the Wednesday I had an interview and assessment drive with ASDA.Got offered the job and started 2 weeks later!

It was a ■■■■ hectic 8 weeks but don`t regret a single minute of it.

Morning all, thank you all for you kind words. Had a bit of a knockback this morning, turned up for my driver assessment, passed with no probs only to be told that the company had lost a big contract and could only offer me shifts when needed. As sson as things pick up they would take me on full time, wot a bummer. So ive just registered with every agency in the big yellow book, bit of a knockback but they wont beat me. Cant believe i spent all that money, thought everything was sorted then BANG this happens. O well its all sent to try us. Will keep you all posted. Keep smiling guys.

Perhaps you did not get the job because they believed you did not know what part of the day it was… :unamused:

At least you are not under any illusions as to the current situations for general LGV work which is compounded in your case as a newbie.

Be possibly prepared for a long wait unfortunately :frowning:

My god what a day, spoke to manpower who have now done a turnaround and will not give me any class c work, plus they got a letter back from my jobcentre saying i have been on benefits for only a year ffs.
I told manpower they were wrong and i have all the paperwork and bank statements to confirm and he said no can do. Guess wot though im still not giving in. Called up a couple of jobs today, just came up to the 2 year experiance wall. So after being on a high friday with promised work, im now struggling and £1300 worse off. Happy new year to me… not.
I realy though i had everything covered.
Got 2 more agencys to call in the morning then i think i mite just take any job for now and wait for things to pick up.
Was thinking about redoing my cv and knocking on doors and sending it off to all and sundry to at least be somewhere near the top of the pile when it all picks up.
