Of course it does.
After all that the picture was taken near Hellange in Luxemburg at the Rock a Field festival 2006, it was as you can see in the middle of the forest. Soon after that pic was taken the heavens opened and hail stones came down the size large gobstoppers. People were getting hurt so they allowed the people to dive under the stage on the stage anywhere they could get to get under shelter. It stopped just as suddenly and then the show continued. The coach behind was the crew bus. links.pictures.aol.com/pic/7890K … 3Ig=_l.jpg

I just love the 2nd photo with Donna scratching her head. We had a few laughs over possible captions to go with that one! Donna was double-driving me on that tour, and I think it was only her 2nd stint in Europe. Cant remember everywhere that we went on that one, but she was 100% reliable, being more than capable of finding her own way while I slept. (We dont do sat-nav). Donna also came out with me last year, this time driving her own truck, or rather replacing another driver who had had to fly home. She was already out doing a d/d with Becky and Gaz, but then ended up flying to Helsinki to pick up the other truck. From there we did Tallinn,Riga,Vilnius,Warsaw,Kiev,Vienna,Brno,Dresden,Regensburg,Linz, Skopje,Thessalonika,Athens,Sofia,Zagreb,Trieste,Stuttgart, Tuttlingen,Bremen,Dusseldorf,Frankfurt, St.Gallen,Brescia,Rome,Bratislava,Luxembourg,St.Malo,Montreux,Toulon,and finally,Annecy. Couple of incidents that come to mind, which amused me,although they were undoubtedly sexist, but not on my part. 1) On our way to Kiev, the amount of interest we obtained at the border due to the fact that the Customs officers had never seen a female truck driver before. The head of Customs made it is personal responsibility to ensure we got through quickly, and he said he would change his shift to make sure he was there on our way back out. Sure enough he was, and we were through within 30mins. He had his arm round Donna most of the time, but it worked! 2) On our way to Thessalonika from Skopje, we were stopped by the Macedonian Police for allegedly speeding. We were both doing the same speed, but only I was fined .It cost me 20Euro and Donna nothing. I wonder if it had anything to do with the short skirt and vest she was wearing? The photo showing us next to the Stagetruck DAF was from the earlier tour. We did a few shows with Placebo when they were the support act to Depeche Mode .
You would have looked silly in the skirt gb1! trust me! pity I havent got any pictures like that

nice read, i met becky on metallica last summer, had a few good laughs with her
I’ve had T50 STA for just over 4yrs now, and have had it from new. Its the only 530 on the fleet, the majority of the rest being 480’s, although we do have some older 430’s and a couple of lhd’s with ■■■■■■■ 500’s in. T50 was also the first on the fleet to be named. The boss is into steam-trains, so mines been named Sir Nigel Gresley, after the designer of the first streamlined steam-train. All the names relate to the same class of train, but i’m afraid i’m not clued up on them. The first trip with T50 was to Cyprus, where I took equipment for -would you believe- a conference/exhibition for Volvo Trucks. Needless to say, they were not happy about their gear being on the back of a brand new DAF, and I was forced to park away from the venue. They put me in a hotel just down the road, but unfortunately they had to pass it to get into town. My truck had pride of place in front of the main doors… you just could’nt miss it. The route from the UK took me down through Italy, where I got the ferry from Ancona to Patras. Then a short drive across Greece to Piraeus, where I got my next ferry to Limassol. That was something different. There was only myself and a Dutchman travelling as accompanied freight, the bulk of the trucks and trailers going on to Israel. Conditions onboard were not what most of us are used to.The trucks were jammed so tight that some were touching each other. To get to the accomodation deck meant having to climb out of my truck, up a ladder on to the top of the trailer, then walk across the tops of others, and finally climbing over the safety rail. Dont think P&O would let you get away with that on the Dover/Calais crossing. After much persuasion, we managed to get seperate cabins. Didnt really see the need for the only two passengers to have to share a cabin, especially as it’s a 3day crossing. Anyway, myself and the Dutchman arranged to meet in the bar for a beer prior to dinner. Imagine the dissappointment when we found that the entire stock of the bar consisted of 3 cans of non-alcoholic lager between us. Things got worse though when we went for dinner, as we had to wait while the chef caught it over the side. We had grilled fish with bread and rice, whereas breakfast the next day consisted of grilled fish with rice and bread, not to be confused with lunch - bread with grilled fish and rice. I was glad when we arrived in Limassol, just for a change of diet. After disembarking, I engaged the services of a local customs agent, as the truck has to be temporarily imported, along with importing the cargo. A day later and i’m on my way to tip, but not until arrangements have been made for a Customs officer to be present at the unloading. He meticulously checked every item and every serial number on every piece of equipment, hence unloading took 2days. The reloading after the show was even more frustrating, as the same guy insisted on measuring every piece of sawn timber from the set to make sure we had the right amount with us. After returning to the ferry port, I had to wait another 2days for the return ferry as it was still in Haifa. When it finally arrived it took a day to load, then the Captain refused to leave, claiming that I needed to pay the shipping costs. A taxi ride into town and a good ding-dong with the Salamis Lines office, and it was agreed that the costs were on account. The ferry cast-off as I walked back on! The return crossing was quicker, probably because this was the crews last stint and they were eager to get ashore. Unfortunately, no such luck for me as even though we docked in Piraeus at 20.00, I was’nt allowed to disembark until 09.00 the next day as there were no Customs officers on duty. Once off the next day, it was a fairly straightforward return to the UK. The job took 5weeks for a 1day show, and I spent only 10 nights in the truck. Certainly made up for it since!

The Stardes SSC with the step-frame tilt was one of mine from the days we did a bit of general. The 3300 was still on the fleet when I joined, but not one that I got to drive. I had a flat top 3300, D538 MNH if I remember correctly. The Steyr was one of mine from my O/D days.
