Stanian transport (Trafford park)

Anyone drive for these? Just wondered what there like to work for average start and finish times and wages etc. They seem to have some smart motors.

It’s mainly local container work they do, so I can’t envisage the hours being outside the 5am-6pm Mon-Fri bracket massively & most of their wagons are normally parked up by 4/5. Apart from that they do a lot of shows, the blinged up motors are at shows on a regular basis. They have a hospitality trailer in their yard outside the freight terminal.

Go and suss them out if your interested, it might be an alright gig but all I know is that you never hear anybody in the container game on Trafford Park outside of Stanian, talking about how they would like to work for them. They don’t have the best reputation by all accounts, more of an enthusiasts job than a money maker.

Thanks for that I may enquire.

A year or so ago I enquired, was told £260 for 40 hours.
As the Dacia advert says " you do the maths!"

Looks like to me you get paid £6.50ph for the first 40 hours just a rough number. But they need to pay for all that polish and dead miles they do for all the shows they visit.

Must be more than that now, the minumum wage is what £7.20ph. that would be £288  hey its a pay rise, que “I wouldn’t get out of bed for that”

I’ve been into Schenkers twice this week, didn’t realise that Stanion had so many trucks. Never been into Schenkers before, normally its turn left for Freightliner

  true.

The word is the Gaffas wife does the wages, drives around in a Rangerover, gives all the drivers a hard time…!

I never understand the comments relating to what the owner or their wife drives. The company I’m at now started by the owner 30 odd years ago and he drives a Range Rover. I think he deserves it, never get why employed drivers don’t seem to realise the time/effort/risk owners go through starting and growing a business, let them have a Range Rover and a big house 30yrs later.

True but it depends on how you’re treated by them. One large tipper firms’ owner around here has a reputation for being pig ignorant, wont speak to most of his employees, but likes to land in the quarry in his helicopter just to rub peoples’ noses in it.
But hey, all the lorries are new or newish so that’s alright.
Smiths Bletchington on the other hand, the chairman is known as “Gentleman John” for good reason.

Think it’s more a case off, if he was paying more than a pittance to drivers then it wouldn’t be a problem.

But he probably gives the line "not enough money for a pay rise "

Just a thought, if you ran a company and as has been pointed out you risked a lot even everything, and your company was doing well would you drive around in a fiesta?
I doubt it
Another point is if you ran a successful company and you paid rock bottom wage to staff but your company paid you well and was doing well, would you be trading your lifestyle down to better your workers lifestyle by paying them more?
Human nature in business doesn’t seem to work, no matter how strong your morals (even lower with share holders)
We as workers are just a means to money.
