Doccombe are based in Downton wilts, just outside Salisbury. I think they mainly do stuff for one of the pallet carriers. All Merc fleet of around 10 vehicles, smartly turned out and a tie is a must. Never heard any of their drivers complaining and I think it’s a bit of deadman’s shoes to get on there.

Are stagetruck rates really as poor as people have said
No there are a lot of add ons like p.d’s and working the pin spots can add up to very good money
Do you work for them? whats p.d.
p/d stands for Per Diem/per day money. On all his kind of work you can potentially earn extras. Now all the R&R companies pay the same way as in so much a day & no money at all when your at home. Each company differs in it’s day rates. some start as low as £70 to £80 a day others over £100. Not brillant we all know but on a tour where you are offered Hotel buyout & spots you can easy be earning some days over £250 a day! Now this all depends on the touring company you are working for because a lot will offer the drivers nothing at all others will just feed ya & some throw cash at ya! P/D’s are more common in the corporate side which is a day rate for the whole crew for food normally when free catering is not offered!
^^^
Pretty much what Jacko said , but please take into account that on the rock and roll trucks , if there is no work you will be sat at home earning zero dollars , and when you have work you will be away for long stretches . There are still drivers that think it’s a mon-fri job out there believe it or not , I’ve met em !!!
Stagetruck also run regular general to europe my mate had a go on for them doin regular Italy but we never discussed money but he seemed happy enough! He said you can go on there just to do that type of work if you wish & stay away from the R&R side! This was his intension but after a while got his head turned by the promise of R&R work so he started on the tours doin double drives for em, met loads of superstars ( & they were the drivers) realised what a load of ■■■■■ this type of job can be ( which although never mentioned on these threads it can be) & left!
Pointless post by Dan who said pay is poor but wants work them.
If you drive all night on tour work and in the day when you should be resting and tacho on bed how do you explain doing other work and faffing about with P.A and lighting.£250 a day. What a to say that. Then one post says his mate on concert work will not reveal what he earns as it is peanuts driving all night.
Toby, please have a read of Rule #3.
Have a go at the post by all means, but NOT the person. dd.

No I don’t work for them but they sometimes do a bit for the firm I’m on for and have run to Russia with a cpl of their guys , good lads and told us a fair bit about their job and what they can earn
if its the ones from feltham middx,[concert trucking]the owner is/was a diehard cyclist, started talking to me about cycling and why most people dont take it up instead of driving into work, bit of a strange guy i thought and apparently its only seasonal work,as and when
