I don’t know what is most sad out of the two options…the Dormice disappearing or the hard shoulder from practically every motorway. Reinstate the emergency lane and let the Dormice sleep.
so there not allowed to cut down trees at night because the noise might disturb the dormice sleep.
they have obviously been there a while sleeping with all the traffic noise so cant see a tree falling would be that loud

Disappeared from the Sun too but still appears in a local rag. Seems the dormice are nearby not actually on site but same still applies as reason for closing motorway as they hibernating.
Amendment at bottom of article although possibly even more daft. Suspect they can survive on a stprm if the trees come down ffs so why not here.
