Hi guys I’ve recently passed my C+E and got a couple of shifts booked in at Sports Direct I was just wondering if anyone could give me some info on what units they run, I know most are scanias but are they auto or manual? Any help would be great
I did a couple of shifts there straight after passing my test. They have some Man units as well as the Scanias, and all that I saw were automatics.
Hopefully you’ll get double-manned with someone helpful and pleasant as I was on the first two occasions. On the third and final occasion I was paired with an unpleasant woman that used to enjoy texting and driving!
Thanks judehamish I was kind of hoping that they were autos because that’s what I learnt in… They’ve said it will be double manned, is it long distance work?
I went as far north as Galashiels and as far south as Poole. Shift length was between fifteen and seventeen hours.
If you end up with a nice helpful person to share the lorry with they will be able to give you some help with reversing etc.
All the best with it

Can you drive manual boxes if you pass in an auto ?
Apparently a Scania Opticruise counts as a manual for test purposes even though the clutch pedal is only used when moving off or stopping.
