Split shift ?

If you do 3hrs in day and say 8hr58min on the night does it not count as it needs to be at least 9hrs off ? Even though you have technically had more than 11 ? Cheers

As far as the EU regulations are concerned there’s no such thing as a split shift, there is a split daily rest period if that’s what you’re talking about.

A split daily rest period is when you have 3 consecutive hours rest during the shift, if you then have another 9 hours rest after the shift it counts as a split daily rest period rather than a reduced daily rest period.
for a split daily rest period the last 9 hour rest period must be completed within 24 hours from the start of the shift.

It needs to be at least 9, but not many VOSA men would give you hassle for being two minutes short to be fair

Minimum 3 hours 1st followed by minimum 9 hours in 24 hour period. So, 8hrs 58mins is no good as second part of split daily rest. The split daily rest allows you to do 15 hour spreadovers each driving day - providing there is a 3 hour uninterrupted(minimum) break/rest in the shift.
Think of it a little bit like a split driving break (minimum 15 minutes followed by minimum 30 minutes - to be taken in that order) just change the numbers!!!

Thought so just wanted to make sure lol ■■■■■■■■■

Just sign for the infringement, learn from it and move on. No big deal. :stuck_out_tongue:
