Split Break

today i am in manchester being a massive storage fridge for muller yogurts, since i got here at about 0730 i have just been sat round doing nowt, occasionally i help them unload and slap it onto other work for this, if i put it on rest and then leave it on rest while i chill out for over 3 hours before the day ends and i can drive off into the sunset for my night off, when i stick it on break tonight and have atleast 9 hours rest (maybe more) is this classed as a reduced daily rest if i have had a full uninterupted 3 hours during the day?

i think it isnt but i just want to make sure before i run out of reduced rests before driving back to fareham on sunday eveninng/night (after driving for approx an hour (sun 0630-0730) then it being on break all day tomorrow (about 10 hours) and doing nowt until its time to go home!) if not i will have to stay another night and it is getting a bit cramped with me, the pile of washing and all the flies that pop in to visit me as its a bit hot outside! ( they have stuck me next to some bins, are they trying to tell me something?

3 and THEN 9 rest is NOT a reduced daily rest.

cheers for that Rog.

i thought it wasnt a reduced rest but just needed to clarify, dont want to get on the wrong side of the law!

on break all day tomorrow (about 10 hours)

I don’t know whether it helps but would the above be a reduced daily rest as well

thats why i was asking, sunday will be my third this week as long as today and tonight (3 + 10 hours) is not a reduced. if it was i would be up here for another night (sunday night) which i dont want, i want to get home and see the wife (believe it or not!)

Remember when calculating amount of allowed reduced daily rest periods it is 3 reductions between weekly rest periods, the new week starting at midnight Sunday won’t give you another 3 until you have taken a weekly rest. I’m sure you know this but saying third this week could confuse someone who doesn’t know.
