Split break rules on channel crossings

can someone please explain the correct way to split a daily break whilst on ferry or train…and the rules…thanks

Deleted as it has been answered by coffeeholic a few posts down

Dover - Calais crossings can not be split in this way. You must have access to a bunk or couchette for the duration of the crossing.

This rules out the Shuttle or P&O and Seastink. In another thread I suggested that the massage couches on Norfolk Line could be utilised, it was more of a jest than an honest opinion though.

Rog has posted how to use the Western crossings

there is a “quiet room” on the NPC with couchettes but it is by the crew quarters and they don’t understand the meaning of the word Quiet :imp:

You must have at least 11 hours rest.

You can interrupt this period twice.

The total time for the interruptions must be no more than 1 hour.

For all parts of the rest you must have access to a bunk or couchette.

On a day you intend to use the interrupted rest your shift cannot be much more than 12 - 12.5 hours, that leaves time for the shift, the interruptions and the 11 hours rest to all fit into the 24 hour period as with normal daily rest.

Using a digi tacho and interrupted rest.

Once booked on and parked waiting to board select rest as the mode and also scroll through the menu to teh end country option and enter end country.

When it is time to board scroll the menu to the vehicle entry section and find the ferry mode option, select it.

Board the ferry, when you move the mode will change to drive, and once on board reset the mode switch to rest.

When it is time to disembark, and you need to complete your rest, select ferry mode again.

Drive off and park then reset the mode to rest again. When you are ready to begin your shift enter your begin country and you’re good to go.

If you don’t need to complete your rest after disembarking simply enter the begin country and proceed as normal.
