The subtitle The Whale That Blew Up In The Street gives an indication of what to expect. There are blood and guts galore at the scene of the carnage, images that the makers keep repeating to pad out the hour-long slot.
The 50-ton sperm whale was washed up on the beach in Taiwan in January 2004.
Twenty-four hours later it exploded while being transported on the back of a lorry to a university for scientific examination.
Bang! Intestines, chunks of blubber and gallons of blood burst out of the whale. The street, shops and cars were showered in blood and guts. It resembles a scene from a horror movie. Scientists wanted to find the reason for the explosion.
Various theories are put forward You can’t help laughing at the idea of an exploding whale, although it wasn’t anything to laugh about if you were standing nearby.
