Speedo not working

I have a four series scania, ichanged the strater motor the other day as the old one failed but i disconnected the batteries first now the speedo wont work the tacho is still recording movement but the speedo isnt working. Any ideas ?

Fuse ?

is there a plastic protective disc in it? if so take it out then close the tacho head. it might do the trick.
otherwise you could have knocked the connection to the sender unit.

I have checked all the fuses and they are ok

have you dislodged the speedo cable anywhere near the starter motor?

Make sure it’s got charts in both positions

Open the tachograph head, look at your stylus “needles” it will more than likely to be stuck in the top of the tachograph if so pull down with your finger nail, sometimes it is a common fault with scanias especially for example if the fuse/power supply has been disconnected,
And please remember you have 7 days to get the fault fixed or you could face a fine for a inoperative tachograph.
