Speedlink owner drivers

speedlinktransport.eu/jobs

Has anyone had any experience with this kind of thing or know anyone that has ? Just a thought

…so you pay them to work for them?

Am I missing something here?

I’ve no direct experience of them, but a few things leapt out at me from the FAQ page.

Is my membership transferable?
No. Memberships are not transferable at this time

This implies to me that they will want money from you up-front for the membership, it’s never advisable to pay someone to give you work.

How often will I get paid?
SpeedLink emails an earnings statement to Owner Drivers on or around the 15th of the month covering the previous calendar month. You will be required to invoice SpeedLink for the amount shown on this statement in order to get paid. It may take a little more than a month to receive your first pay but once you get into the cycle, your pay will effectively be monthly

So payment terms are 45 days from end of month, which is poor. They say that it may take a little more than a month to receive your first pay, I can’t see any reason why it should.

How do I sort out a problem with my pay?
SpeedLink does not under any circumstances field telephone queries regarding drivers pay. All queries need to be emailed to driverpay@speedlinktransport.eu which will be processed within 5 days

Why won’t they talk on the phone about problems with your pay and why will it take them five days to reply to an email?

My gut instinct would be to steer clear although I’m willing to be corrected if folk have positive experiences of them.

Yep, found it tucked away at the back…

And I thought courier exchange membership was pricey rule of thumb if they want money up front walk away from this type I thing nice flashy website though and decent Sameday or next day company will talk on the phone and won’t take 5 days to answer an email

There is a difference between “investment” and “pay up front and pray”. I think this counts as the latter - avoid is my advice.

Wouldn’t trust any company where you have to pay up front.
Sounds a little bit like the offers for working from home:
Make 500 - 700 a week, but pay us first £ 100,00 for member ship.

Why won’t they deduct that of the first payment?

Fools & their £money are soon parted. There is nothing that can help them, no one can stop them.

You can point out each & every individual opportunity where they’re likely to be fleeced, they just move onto the next one while you’re not looking.

Yes, I didn’t have to pay anything to the company I’m on for, they pay 30 days end of month, on the day, every time, and if there’s ever a problem with my weekly rate confirmation then I can phone the girls in the office and within five minutes I will have been issued a revised rate confirmation.

Any company which won’t take a phone call about money they owe you for work you may have done six weeks ago simply is not trading ethically.

Unfortunately there’s a good few scams about which are very similar to this not that I’m saying this one is a scam

Just bear in mind that behind every scheme is a schemer.

The more I look at it, the more it stinks.

Just the look at companies they deal with smells ratty,

What exactly would DHL want with them, since DHL mainly use direct O/D’s rather than that surely ?

Or do i have wrong end of stick.

I’d watch out. :smiling_imp:

Try having a look at their HQ on Streetview. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

“Prestige, off road, contact suite”
Looks good.

If it looks like a pig & smells like a pig, then it’s a pig !

I don’t understand exactly what we’re discussing here? Only a fool would part with £500+ on the basis of that website.
