Speeding on motorway

Appreciate a bit of a heads up please. Clean licence.

M6 Sunday early evening north J2 - J3. Passed safety camera and it went off, twice. Looked at my speedo and 83. (Yeah I know). No other vehicles around me.

No letter yet but expected, so what will the punishment be and can I get on a speeding course.

Thanks in advance. N

You ought to be ashamed of yourself!. :imp:

For working on a Sunday that is…■■■■ grabber.
At least it’ll go towards the fine.

It’s a rostered shift. 4 on 4 off.

Having recently done the same in a different I’ve looked into thresholds for courses and anything 10% +9mph should* get youa course offer.

So 86 or under should* get you a course.

*Should doesn’t mean will. Its up to them at the end of the day.

Assuming you mean in a car, it might depend partly on the police area as the 10% thing is advisory and not all stick to it. Most do seem to however in England so likely a coursefor geing just over.

If in a truck, which fuse do you pull to turn off the limiter? Purely for research purposes that it.

Do all areas do courses , they didn’t years ago , depended where you were caught if that area ( county did them )

It was a car!

Thanks. Hopefully get the course then.

Thanks.

That changes things totally.
So it was basically a non event, 14 mph over, (arguably no potential danger depending on traffic and conditions) but ‘they’ jumped on it to make a few quid. :unamused:
I was thinking you were in Paddy overdrive downhill in your truck, in which case ‘they’ would have taken a dim (mer) view.

dozy:

No. Scotland doesn’t.
