50 on Single carriageways, 60 on Dual Carriageways In England and Wales only though!

It is a limit and not a target! 
I’ll often run at 40 (or less) if I’ve a full load and/or I’m not familiar with the road.
Both answers above are equally valid, but I stand by what I wrote as the op asked what the limit was, not how fast he/she should be travelling.

Agree totally with this, I drive a adr tanker so i drive to what is safe for the road and weather conditions.

At the time the law was changing I was spending my time in hospital with my dying father (look back on my posts about the company ( abbey ) who sent my p45 while I was on unpaid leave ) Therefore I have not SEEN the outcome, or been TOLD officially if it had changed or not.
I have now got myself another job starting on Monday and wanted to make sure.
No need to jump down my throat for asking a question that I wasn’t sure about the answer.

Yes it is an odd question, as you could simply Google the answer. And it’s got nothing to do with ‘A’ roads.

They must be the same breed that sit at 40 through the roadworks in the n/s lane on the M4 13-14-13… Instead of having the 3 lanes of any vehicle in lane 1 and the 2 of 6’ 6", have lane 1 for those brave enough to hit 50 ( or ‘make progress’, like sensible truckers) and the other 2 for folk who like to hold everyone else up!
