Speed Trace - Digicard or VU?

I’m guessing the speed trace is deffo in the VU, but does anyone know - Is the speed trace also saved to the driver card ?

I got told that the chip aint big enough to store all this on to it for longer than a day or so

Don’t think driver cards have enough memory to store speed traces.

Speed trace is only recorded on the VU, card memory is not large enough.

Going on from the previous post about this,Coffee stated that you could download the speed trace for up to 24 hours.Could he tell us how please.

You’ll need a company card to download the speed trace.

The detailed speed file, which is the speed the vehicle was travelling at in whole Km/h for each second of the last 24 hours of vehicle movement is ONLY held within the Vehicle Unit mass memory. To download it you need either a Company card, Workshop card (only issued to approved tacho installers) or a Control card (VOSA or the Police). You will also need a downloading tool like a; ‘Digidown,’ ‘Tisskey’ or ‘Optac download tool.’

The driver card doesn’t store the detailed speed file.

Later versions of VU’s may store more than the last 24 hours of vehicle movement. The v 1.3a VDO stores the last 7 days, but requires a VDO download tool to get the information. This is because the 24 hour file is the legally required file, the 6 extra days are ‘optional.’
