I was reading that other topic about Lomas Distribution with interest as it broke off into a discussion about their speed limiters, or lack thereof . Working nights I never see them about so unable to comment on them, but I wonder if they are related to company with the fancy red Volvos with SNT on the light board? Dunno what theyāre called but theyāre on English plates and appear to be immune from any speed limiters at all. Had one flash me out of his way on the M6 at Penrith last night
as I was overtaking a DPD Merc yet mine does 90 clicks bang on and I was making decent progress past him. Soon as I pulled in he went past me like a rocket doing a good 60+
. Couldnāt even read the name on the door he was going that fast, something Nicholls, Simon maybe?
Seem to get buzzed by them regularly on the M6 on a night time. Sawyers and Manfreight seem to think theyāre coaches from the speeds they fly by at as well.
Snt are Stuart Nichols transport has a nice fleet includes a scania t cab with every thing on and I mean everything mind you he is related to the boss

Yeah thatās them. Just looked up their website, Stuart Nicol Transport, itās the same livery. Based in Shotts, somewhere in Scotland.
Impatient plank, did he think he was still in his BMW, did he assume that you would forget you were in a lorry but think you were still in your red Micra instead, and after overtaking said lorry would proceed down the middle lane for the next 120 miles at speeds varying between 40 and 54mph for no reason.
Flashing people out the way, dear Lord, might get over himself one day, maybe when his ghoulies drop.
SNT, They are in our place sometimes, our yard can be extremely tight at times, SNT rolls in in a long nosed Scania⦠not keen on the look of these type of trucks but my god it sounded amazing!!!
I was doing 89 kph earlier and a lomas wagon fly past me do they pay well? wagons look decent

Stuart Nicol is the boss, and, he does not drive the T Cab
that is Phil Lane who drives the T Cab
Phil is related to the boss by marriage, Phil married Stuartās sister, Laura

The man put related , never said heās the boss. Clever git
The Torpedoās been parked in Penrith a few times without the driver so I reckon he must live/have family there somewhere. Lovely truck, probably the best T-Cab in the country and very close to the best truck full stop!
It is defo the best I have seen it was in t&d a few months ago
Why is it āthe best T-Cabā?
Forgive me but Iām not getting aroused by an old, obsolete tractor unit with some fairy lights on top.

Nor me, but i have to admire any bugger that can get into some of the places we have to go with a bonnetted tractor unit on the front, i struggle enough when i can see almost straight down, and thats with properly set spotlessly clean mirrors, i suppose you get used too it, but i wouldnāt want one meselfā¦unless it was my turn for a nasty smash up in which case iāll gladly take the bonnet.
That was pulling a wide load one day on the DC section of the A500 near Stoke. Foot to the boards, weaving all over the place, about 3ft hanging off either side of the trailer.
Oh, and in lane 2. Most clever. I was so impressed. Especially with him almost ripping the side out of my motor and my mirror off.
The words bell and end spring to mind.

Ahhhhh, thatās because you didnāt notice the half drawn fillies.

Looks like heās got a tag axel and not a mid lift which would make turning in yards a ā ā ā ā sight easier, although I still know what you mean.

Now, that just looks to me like it fell out of the Ugly Tree and hit every branch on the way down⦠if it had been designed to be a bonneted truck then Scania might have been able to make it aesthetically pleasing, but it wasnāt, so it just looks like any other Scania, except with a big nose stuck on the front.
Lomas arenāt over just on the top of the line.
Iāve heard about SNTās limiters before & I presume so has the Man so if heās still going I presume thereās no story.
If I was to have a motor that long, I would prefer more living quarters and less nose. Imagine the space you would have.
Well limiter or not the speed limit on a motorway is 60 mph (96.5 kph), allow a small margin for error on the tacho and they really canāt be prosecuted for say 63 mph. I am guessing the limiter is set at 90 kph because thatās what it is supposed to be, however ā¦

They can if itās powered over 56 mph. I presume the OP has enough smarts to realise when heās on a downhill gradient or not.
