Speed Limit

Hi is the speed limit on a 7.5 tonne the same as Class C or just the same as a car ?

Look it up in the Highway Code book you have stashed away

Ok Sorry. Maybe a little unfair.

UK National speed limits for LGV’s of 3,500kg to 7,500kg MAM

Local roads : As marked
Single carriageway : 50
Dual carriageway : 60
Motorways : 70

coach drivers seem to be imune since they fly past me on the motorway doing 60 mph + …

PCV’s have different speed limits to LGV’s

you will notice alot of 7.5t are now being restricted to 56, and i believe they cannot use lane 3 of motorway no more?

that could be because they’re allowed to do 70 on the motorway

Thanks for that ! cheers

Speed limits and speed limiters are two different things.

It’s because the human cargo complains when they are late

Last time I drove the feeder coach I found out the timings were done by autoroute that planned my journey speeds to be 50mph on A roads and 60mph on motorways. I got a little behind time, and at one point had a passenger ask me to slow down as they felt unwell being thrown around the roads. I did and drove to the conditions than the timetable and got greif off the boss for being behind schedule. Suggested he speak to the planners to add more time onto the route, but didn’t do that run again.

Since found out that the regular driver is always running late anyway. Geez, thanks for telling me! But I was a newbie back then  I’m a tad more patient now
