speed cameras

Outside our place of work there is a black camera (a lot like the grey ones you see on lamp posts now in towns and villages) one of the guys I work with says it’s a speed camera…but I’m pretty sure they’re surveillance and monitoring cameras, not speed. Anyone know? Just curious really, as they seem to be getting more and more popular.

Possibly a DS2?

Yeah maybe. It looks like this…but black shropshirestar.com/news/2013 … d-telford/

think that’s traffic monitoring and anpr since you no longer display a tax disc

Im pretty sure all speed cameras are required to be grey with reflective marks on the rear. Because apparently it was soooo unfair that drivers who were speeding could get caught by a camera they couldnt see.

It’s only cameras where the local authority/camera partnership keep the money collected that have to be marked. Cameras that have the fines go to central government don’t have to be marked up like that.

I have noticed the increase in them around Telford and wondered what they were.

I go to the area regularly with work, and my other half comes from the town as well.
