Don’t get me wrong, I’m no saint. But if I decide to drive at 50 or 56 on a single carriageway road, I can’t complain if I get caught. I am responsible for my actions so therefore at fault.

I don’t always agree with the speed limits on our roads, especially a long stretch of straight road in the middle of no-where being a 40 limit, but that is the speed limit, and I have the choice of sticking to it or breaking it.

Yes you have the choice, but remember the guy in front i.e me, If I’m driving to the speed limit, please don’t start flashing me, or tailgating because I’m slowing you down.

I generally do 45 on a single carriageway, but if I come up behind another vehicle doind 40, I just sit back. I certainly wouldn’t flash or tailgate.

I will always tailgate 40mph trucks, but it is never to intimidate or get them to speed up. Waste of time in my opinion, they don’t seem to look in their mirrors anyway. :unamused:

In all honesty I don’t stick to the speed limits at all, be it in the car or the wagon. I have a speeding offence free licence and fully realise that if I get caught speeding I only have myself to blame.

The speed limits are set far too low anyway, primarily to cater for those that weren’t born with any common sense. :unamused:

Does that include 30 limits through town?

If so, I would say it’s YOU without common sense.

If it’s the silly hours of the morning yes, I’d go through at maybe 40mph. Peak times when schools are kicking out etc then obviously not, it would be an appropriate speed under 30mph.

Knew there’d be someone to pick holes in my remarks even though if they’d used their common sense they would have understood perfectly what I meant. :unamused:

Most times its on good wide trunk roads and I can sit out a bit observing the road ahead. I have far better reflexes than some 40mph driver sitting on the cruise control with one foot on the dash. :unamused:

I have no objections to anyone sticking to the limit, it is entirely their business. A lot of them a very decent drivers and do pull over when there is a tailback. I never flash the lights or use the horn towards them, I just want passed. The only way to overtake safely is to sit reasonably close behind, usually just the length of a car.

Nearly 15 years on the road ignoring the 40 limit has seen me involved in no accidents whatsoever.

I am fed up of hearing people moaning about speed cameras and all the comments about the revenue collected.

I’ll let you into a little secret. If you don’t speed, you won’t get flashed by a camera, pretty simple really.

The “law” now says that anyone who drinks more than ten pints of lager is a hooligan…why ?, because thats what the law says…right ■■ If you drink nine pints then thats ok, but drinks ten and you are are a menace to society because “research says that is way too much” would you also conform to that ?

Its the same thing with so called “speeding” DO NOT tell me that if I travel at 32mph in a 30mph limit that i’m dangerous OR breaking the law…what a load of BS !! THE only reason you are being fined is because the local police authorities are trying to make as much money as they can from you…and why ■■?..because, mr blair has said to them, “if you want more money to run the force, then target the drivers” its as simple as that !!!, DONT tell me that if i do 31mph in a 30mph zone that im a criminal and an “offfender” or im NOT a pro’ driver …utter crap !!!, I suppose you will agree with ID cards as well ■■? because if we have those as well we will be “much more safer from terrorists” ■■? utter rubbish.

I really wonder sometimes if the people who write this are connected in some way to the goverment ■■? or the banks ■■?

Do you also oppose the fact that the goverment spend millions of your tax on “intelligence” ■■? do you have a say in that ??do you agree with that also ■■?.

Sorry, 32 in a 30 limit is breaking the law, whether you (or I) agree with this or not.

Your obviously not someone used to going over 40 and must be a very nervous driver. :imp: :imp:
