I got flashed by a gatso in my truck about 4 weeks ago but haven’t heard anything since then. Anyone here any idea it usually takes for a speeding ticket to be issued? I assumed i would have heard something by now.

mine took about 4 weeks, you might be lucky as I have heard of some of the cameras flash but don’t actually record things as apparently it is expensive to keep them all in film ?
Cant be specific mate, but i believe its 6 weeks to receive the NIP from the day of the offence, someone will be along shortly to put us right.
Unless the law has changed recently an NIP must be sent to reach the offender within 14 days. However, as you were in your truck the NIP would be sent to your company and as the ‘keeper’ of the truck it would be obliged to notify who was driving at the time of the alleged offence.
So if the company haven’t received an NIP you may be OK.
It was reported recently after a Freedom of information request to various forces that only 20% of cameras are actually working. This applies to the Gatsos I think, as the traffic cops don’t have time to keep changing film in them, Gatsos are being replaced by the new sneaky digital ones that work in BOTH directions and are linked directly to the enforcement centres.
I’d check with the company, best of luck!
I believe the registered keeper of the vehicle has to receive the NIP within 14 days of the offence, however if it’s a hired vehicle it could take several weeks for the driver to get a NIP.
Apart from the registered keeper of the vehicle receiving a NIP within 14 days I’m not aware of any time limit for the driver to be notified.

Doesn’t a stute of limitation of six months apply in these types of cases? From a dim and distant memory.
usually within 14 days for your own vehicle and within 3 months for works or rented vehicle nip goes to keeper then they return nip with drivers details and then the driver will get their own nip in post
lot and lots of information on pepipoo site
Maybe England have adopted the same method as we have up here. They flash but the majority of them aren’t actually doing much else.

I’m pretty sure you’re right, when I said “I’m not aware of any time limit for the driver to be notified” I wasn’t really thinking that far ahead to be honest

Yep was a thing in our local rag not so long back that only 25% of the speed cameras in our area are live at any one time…they didn’t publish which ones though

To prosecute they’ve got to kick the process off at the magistrate’s court within 6 months of the offence; but this too isn’t a guarantee about how long it takes to hear about anything.
Is it your employer’s truck vikingpete? Hopefully they’d have already said something if you’ve been caught!
Yes it’s my employers truck and still not heard anything.
When I got caught by boss got the NIP within a week. I got my own one a few days after he sent it back. They don’t tend to hang around.
