Hi guys, I was just curious what software you guys use for speed camera alerts. I currently do not have one but it would help to have something in cab which would warn you of any speed cameras. Thanks,
I use one called EYES it almost failsafe you set it to scan speed limit signs and the speedo

Totally agree, not worth speeding these days to many cameras about and whilst they have painted yellow a lot of the fix cameras there to many mobile ones about and and Sat Navs might have speed camera locations that are regularly updated … Im sure the police use this of this information to catch ppl out on
So now its become a game of cat and mouse… not worth the risk, not worth the financial implications i.e. speeding fines insurances rises and VOSA fines …plus the issue with it having any effect on your or your employers operating licence

most local rags print the weekly or monthly locations of the mobile cameras along with the time and place that they are in operation … with the full cooperation of the local constabulary
I recently just got a TomTom that has Speed Camera alerts and it is always up to date. I found a discount code that gives you 20% off the TomTom PRO 5150 Truck which is a great Sat Nav. Go to tomtom.com/en_gb/products/yo … avigation/ and add the code ‘TRUKFO’. I highly recommend it.
Why would any good driver need a speed camera alert?
Why would any good driver need a Sat Nav ■■
Why not !

Why would any good driver need a speed camera alert?
In case he was driving at a safe and appropriate speed for the road in question but the local police force had recognised that the “number onna stick” was unnaturally low for the road in question and had realised that since virtually every driver exceeded the “number onna stick” that there was a good opportunity to impose a stealth tax?
It’s not a question of a good driver needing a sat-nav, a sensible driver, good or bad, will take advantage of modern technology to make the job easier, just like a sensible driver will take advantage of modern technology to advise him/her of where the speed cameras are.
Being a good driver has little if anything to do with sticking to speed limits.
Very good point ! Just taking advantage of modern technology , like everyone else
I am all for taking advantage of modern technology to a point, but not relying on it.
The key word in that statement was NEED
Sat Navs have their uses, but too many drivers now rely on them & end up in a hell of a pickle
A good driver would call on his experience & plan his route in advance, keep a map handy and be aware of the limitations of the Sat Nav
If he NEEDS a Sat Nav - then I think he shouldn’t be driving a truck - That’s my Opinion, but then I am old school - and believe quite often (not always) the old ways are the best
I’m off to get my Tin Hat now !!
I agree with you on the map! and a good understanding were you are going is always good. But don’t you agree that sat nav’s are very handy just before getting to a job ,in a unknown destination. But also the question was speed camera detectors ,I know old school drivers who have been done for 32 mph in a 30 mph zone’ so for me it’s only playing the same game as the snides hiding in the bushes !
We have had trackers fitted recently. I won’t go in to any figures for myself or anyone else. Boss made a comment the other day, in my reply I just said that I’ve seen the notice that the 6 monthly licence checks are due, and I’ll bring my completely clean one in by the end of the week (if I remember)

Really? 32mph in a 30mph limit? Where and when did that happen?
Knew a girl from Wrexham once (back in the days of zero tolerance with the North Wales Constabulary) that was done for 31 in a 30.
