Speed Awareness Course...

Pimpdaddy:

The points option is cheaper though and I don’t need to spend a day listening to ■■■■■■■■ so took that option.

Hmmmmm, are you sure about that drive…?

Absolutely sure in my case it will be cheaper and absolutely sure I won’t have to spend hours listening to ■■■■■■■■.

Judging from some comments deriding the SAC as ■■■■■■■■,suggests to me that some think they are brilliant drivers and the SAC is only telling them what they think they already know.
If thats the case why did they get caught in the first place.
Some would benefit from taking a Defensive Driving Course or the Institute of Advanced Commercial Driving test and then see how good they are and see how much they know.
Could be an eye opener for some

Dipper_Dave:
drastically reducing speed from 60 when I saw the van too late as I was on the phone.

And you got such a shock you almost dropped the ■■■ you were lighting and you spilt your tea.

So instead of taking a course which would have avoided points on your license and a fine, you took the fine and the points meaning another offence puts you in a precarious position points wise.
Couple that with your views on dash cams and willing to take someones word for it and not need witnesses and you sure like to live life on the edge!
You daredevil!

hmmm in my case just booked a sac and it was either 100 quid plus 3 points (and potential increase in insurance on my own vehicles etc) or the sac at 90 quid…no brainer really

Same option for me, the SAC is only ‘saving’ a tenner so not worth the hassle or time in my mind.

My reference to listening to ■■■■■■■■ wasn’t aimed at the people delivering the course but the other participants. Others have mentioned there’s usually at least one who won’t STFU and makes the thing drag on longer than necessary.

For most people a speed awareness course will be cheaper in the long run.If you acquire points then you have to inform your boss and /or agency and you have to tell your car insurance company, they will then ramp up your premiums.

Admiral penalise you for going on a SAC also, they actually sponsor the Courses.

Read in the paper yesterday about a 29 yr old guy in an Audi who was on his way back from a SAC,and then got killed because he was texting at the wheel!! Veered straight into the path of an oncoming lorry.
