Specsavers or just ask a Lorry Driver,

Have spent the day shunting moving stuff from one warehouse to the new goods outwards warehouse then they asked for my assistance. Would I mind backing into the new warehouse.
3 bays available so I chose the middle one.Now this warehouse I was told cost £10 million, designed by very expensive consultants no doubt and I am sure you will by now guess
why I have spent the afternoon with tears rolling down my face. The idea of this warehouse was that lorries would be loaded inside,in the dry well they could do that but for one teensy
problem…the DOORS WEREN’T WIDE ENOUGH laugh I ■■■■■■ myself…

Pure class my friend

Comes to mind

Epic fail.

The doors were perfect, it’s the trucks that are too wide

You weren’t at mecaplast in peterlee by any chance were you?

Would not reveal where I was we are continuing to work for this company but the response from the contractor was epic…yup…lorry was toooooo wide ah! and it was in the south of England.

Armagedon:

Ah these clever people down that way don’t want smelly old lorries cluttering up their roads, the doors were wide enough for a Posche Cayenne only …

A lot of company drivers at the place I drive for claim that the warehouse doors are not wide enough to reverse a trailer in and refuse to do it, yet me and another s/e guy reverse trailers in and out of there all night without any issues whatsoever. :unamused: Drivers and screwdrivers. :bulb:

A classic. A photo of the trailer up against the door would have been great.

Bald Bloke usually do take pics but I think on this occasion camera would have ended up where the sun don’t shine.

Lol, brilliant. Few red faces at the architects I’m sure!

I just can’t think of a sensible reply.

How short tho, inches or feet

a dairy I worked for won the walls icecream contract for dorset back in the eighties, had a new fridge built on a platform so the trucks could back up to the bay and walk the pallets off the bulk deliveries, only to find the doors too narrow once the truck doors were opened. got a free fork truck ticket though. yard was on a slope so used to hold the pallet at the back doors until driver put the next one up to it. more than one driver said what I should do with my fork truck as they were in a hurry and more than one took back the pallet that came straight out on to the floor. they were not so loud then.
