Fuse, you can do the same…just do 40 hours driving, that wont take to long to clock up, then the other few days get a secondary job to make the hours up and therfore the pay better
You may spend all your hours doing ONE job, where as firefighters for example could do Monday and Tuesday day shifts 9am-6pm, then Wednesday and Thursday nights 6pm-9am therefore finishing at 9am Friday morning and not due back at work until 0900 the following Tuesday morning!!!
Plenty of time for a couple of driving shifts to keep one`s hand in!!!
Even better if the hand that is being “kept in” is “paid out” in cash
Not that im suggesting for one minute that such a thing should ever happen for that, of course,would be illegal and we certainly wouldnt want to condone that would we■■?:shock:
what im am trying to do all though i dont seam to be makeing a job of it is this .why is it ok for a man to do his own job for five days then make me have two days of so he can drive my truck for two days why is he safe to work seven days and not me. no one should be allowed to drive a truck until they have had the requred rest breaks from their normal job ie 45 hours off after last shift at the fire station or the building site

Do you know of people who do actually work Saturday and Sunday? If they do then that is illegal. I only work one day per weekend which is the equivelant of a reduced weekly rest. Which every driver is entitled to do every other weekend as long as you do not exceed your fortnightly hours. If you have a decent TM he should keep you right on this. After all it is his/her job to get as much work out of you as is legally possible. When they start having to pull in agency drivers then it costs extra.

it isnt ok for them to do it. as has been stated it is illegal to do that and anybody that does do it is a fool as they will get caught sooner or later and the brown and smelly will hit the spinning thing.
If its legal Mr Fuse then i,m gonna do it in MY SPARE TIME for extra cash without putting anyone in danger. I could do extra at my full time job and earn more but don,t want to. Like i say if its legal then its my choice…
i went to an agency for part time sat work. they asked what i did in week, it did not effect me, but they say, if you have anouther job, non driving etc in week, but worked sat as a driver, you have to have the sunday and monday off, as you have to have to days a week off together,
