Spare bulbs

Need to order a little spare bulb kit, anyway of knowing whether it’s 24v or 12v without messing about pulling a bulb to check, gettin it dirty and probably blowing it? Or a link to a kit containing both?? It’s a 18tonne daf rigid LF on a 16 plate if that helps?

Should be 24 volt how many batteries on lorry 1= 12volt 2 = 24 volt normally Are the bulbs double or single contact 5 watt or 21 watt bulbs

I’d be surprised if there were any 12v bulbs on that at all. I stand to be corrected however.

Modern Scanias generally have a spare bulb kit in the cab with the tools for changing them

You can get a Halfords trade card as a professional driver giving you upto 30% discount

Although Halfords don’t appear to sell 24V bulbs…

No DAF rigid of that size uses 12V bulbs, nor do their 12T or 7.5T models. They are all 24V.

Have fun trying to change the headlight bulb on an LF as you need to be a contortionist to reach em from underneath
Its easier to tip the cab to do it, but for some reason the Elves at some places don`t like you tipping the cab

Don’t they have an access plate where the steps are like the CF and XF do? It’s a small plastic cover held in with two Torx bolts.

Don’t think the LFs do iirc.

No the majority of them are day cabs, they don’t have a panel and the access to the rear of the headlight is at fingertip when you’re laid underneath on the ground. I drove LF day cab’s during my time on the prison contract

Eurocarparts keep some 24v bulbs, more likely to get them delivered than find what you want in stock at store I suspect.

As it happens I was collecting some blown interior bulbs in an LF yesterday, 3 out of 4 were gone.

ECP run a lot of discount deals, and it’s also possible to cross check the prices using the item/part code with Carparts4less and Vise versa and maybe save some money

Yes they do , mine is full of bulbs / fuses / tools to change them , but I find most companies have r&m contracts where they’d rather get a call out to replace them than you replace them , but odd time when I wanted to get on I’d just change them myself

Multimeter, ammeter or probe such another bulb, always test under load for probable leaks to ground e.g.

Look out for contingencies, bulb might be gone for some reason beyond decay and wear
