Doesn’t mean it’s not a runner though but there are guys on here who will know what this ‘contract’ is about, much better than I do.

Unfortunately all the M/E was was well before my time would of loved to have tried it!!

Unless they’ve moved Iran and Iraq it’s still the M/E, most of the journey is now EEC though (need real HGV licence etc and international O/L not just US100 bills in your sock) and then Turkey for Iraq now, dunno about Iran and how friendly they will be if you arive from Iraq or kurdistan.
If you do call see what they say, specially what is the freight to haul and where in Iraq and or Iran?
again there are guys on here who will advise and really will know about this today and it will be interesting to see there thoughts…

“Colonel Tony Callan” was in fact an ex soldier, I Para, in the 70s, a Greek Cypriot, real name Costas Georgiou. He was kicked out of the army for "alledgedly" robbing a post office. Set himself up as mercenary in Angola during the Angolan civil wars of the 70s and took the “nom du Guerre” of Colonel Callan.
He was a nasty piece of work, alledgedly killing a group of his fellow mercenaries to set an example!!!.. who was eventually wounded, captured and executed by Cuban forces who were supporting and fighting for the local MPLA (IIRC!!).
A few other well known mercenary names and faces from the time…John Banks (ex 2 para), Chris Dempster, Dave Tompkins, Mad Mike Hoare and “black” Bob Denard.

Mr Banks was the british “recruiter” for the Merc`s.
I had heard that he had jumped on the M/E bandwagon at some point.
Facinating!! I have some questions.
1 Why did you think of reversing the telephone number? I would never have thought of doing that.
2 Why did you associate the firm with mercs, I dont see a connection.
3 Is John Bank’s John Peter’s from the Congo.

Thats “mercs” as in mercenaries not “mercs” as in mercedes!! 
Dont know who John Peters is / was…this John Banks was ex 2 para in the 70s, he became the recruiter for the "mercs" who went out to Angola during the wars out there in the 70s.
Apparently quite a few never recieved any or only part of the monies promised to them. He then got involved in freight overland to the M/E which alledgedly resulted in a few people getting burnt for their money!!

sorry about your head, blunderman,(I’m an old ■■■■) it just seemed bit familiar offer as before years ago ,and then we got stuff on here about who it was years ago and off we went ,like in the pub.
reverse tel number was just to find who was at the end of that number not put it backwards mate, nothing MI5 going on.
