hi paul,
during the early-mid 1970’s our family business was located on an old aerodrome at stormy down and right by our building was a concrete ramp.the bell line hauliers used to tip zinc ingots all the time.pretty much every day,as i recall?joseph fish and many others firms regularly did this work, including john beynon evans.the ingots were then stored in j&m transport’s large hanger and were then delivered to burry port, near pembrey by them.i used to watch the que of lorries, all day sometimes  .i just wish i had taken photos.i think the ingots were shipped from burry port to ireland?though i am not positive about this.i remember j+m’s foreman billy morgan telling me that there was over 60,000 tonnes of ingots in that hanger.thanks.

are you sure M8, looks like one to me, even with those “bobby hrse” white rims…as Ken with the wireless would say!..I agree with the comment about saving an FH, but they fetch strong money for export, I would think they will be like the F7 / FL10s…wendy houses, all gone when we want one…lets have some pics of project pete…

hi steelboyf10,

Woah what a thread! :open_mouth: Great stuff, keep it up… It’s took most of the night for me to browse this lot!

Not a haulier, granted, but this Roadrunner originated from your neck of the woods… It was my dad’s pride and joy (rest his soul) Reg number B 475 BNY (cardiff reg?) Operated on the manchester run from 85-90 out of it’s base in Warrington, Cheshire, then Memory lane cakes closed that depot  Does anybody remember seeing them knocking about?

The last known remnants of the company… A rotting trailer now used for storage By iIlott and son’s recovery… :frowning:

Hi boys and girls this is a cracking thread !! it’s great to see the photo’s which have been put on. Here is a photo of my FH 12 Silver Cab which i purchased a few months ago and quietly tidying up, it worked in Sittingbourne for a company called Stage One International for a short time and then went to Nottingham for G & M Motors on car transporter work and then pulled a reefer to Switzerland for Norfolk line with an O/D for a while, first job was getting rid of them headlamp guards and wheel trims !!
