I don’t remember seeing a ‘request for leave’ form Graham, who authorised his time off? I think he thought he’d get away with sneaking off while you were temporarily incapacitated. .

…and the timing too, theres a letter in this months CVC mag about John Raymond transporting equiment from Pontardawe to Calcutta, India.
We need Mr Cooper to get to the bottom of wether the Atki Borderer day cab in the photo just took the load to a dock for onward shipment or heroically completed the overland trip.

hi andrew.
the DCL bristol was a BRS bridgend lorry,it carried carbide from the carbide works in kenfig to bp sully there was more than one on the job they did two loads a day the bins were loaded and unloaded by crane.
regards tony

hi tony,
i wondered about that one being a brs motor, thanks.
regards andrew.

I think that the RT&B motor would have also been a BRS Contract one as well,Bristols only built for the then British Transport Commision with BRS being the main recipitents.Cheers Dennis.

hiya,
Both those 8 wheelers were BRS contracts motors and there were many
in that era private hauliers wouldn’t have access to the Bristols but a bit
later one or two escaped into private hands Oliver Hart had some but he
did “manufacture” quite a few of his own motors from bits and pieces in
his yard so it’s quite possible the only part of his “Bristols” was the cab.
thanks harry, long retired.

[Hi Harry. I think this is one of those.

[Hi Harry. I think this is one of those.

hiya,
Yes “TIDDERSON” I’ll dare bet that’s one of Ollies “heinz’s” i don’t think
his drivers knew exactly what they was driving half the time, but he
did have a lot of long service drivers so the job must have been OK.
thanks harry, long retired.
