Yeah and also Sheddick performed similar and a lot of Scottish work at a rapid rate of knots . Members of the family i think live here in Chepstow , and sadly missed

I was going through my Kenworth pics and I found this one taken at Truckfest South West 1990. I’m pretty sur it’s a T600,a bit unusual being a single screw.
What sort of work did it do,do you know mate?

thanks for the picture mate.chase commercials sold many american trucks over the years.don’t know what happened to this one?it’s a bit distinctive ,so if any other members saw it during the early 90’s they would remember
,perhaps it went to the circus or showland?

we at cardiff transport were known as the ponderosa squadron 3xscotch & 2xnorth east was a normal week when i started i had d74ngn j23uhb and a few new ones
good times then i remember on nights 3 slabs on 1 trailer total weight of load 56ton then transhipped in newport onto trailers for port talbot

I believe Chase commercials are still going having evolved into Georgia trucks [ connects to name on the KW’s bonnet]
Anorak time… if you look above the silver Steyr cab to the right of the Kenworth in first picture you can see the black light bar flyer of a tow truck behind it, this I’m guessing would be Wall’s Freightliner which was supplied as a tractor unit by Chase commercials.

Didnt Sheddick have some of those unusual Steyr trucks ? Legendary was not the word for Cardiff T … , some of the exploits i have herd over the years ! I can remember them plying the A49 showing Lloyds of Ludlow and the like the way home !!!

Nothing wrong with the odd truck anorack moment. Is this the Freightliner your talking about?
New to the site,but have some photos lent to me of E.C.Ward of Monmouth by Robert Ward.Mainly hauling steel out of South Wales,always had a well turned out fleet mainly Foden.Have some publicity shots taken at Rolls Royce factory and others taken at the gates of the Rolls estate just outside Monmouth.One of the photos was enlarged and hung in the main entrance of Rolls Royce building at Shrewsbury.This is the photo from the Rolls factory
