vandaboy, I remember this 6 wheel Deutz running around Rogerstone / Newport. There was another run by PLD haulage on contract to RMC out of Vaynor Quarry. Their tare weight was on the heavy side, and the V8 was a little to thirsty.
The 6 wheel Cargo with the V6 deutz carried 17500kg + at 24390kg gvw.
Good period shots though.

good to see some really good info and pictures on here whilst i have been on holiday .thanks to all who posted.i remember the price maggie deutz’s very well.those deutz’s were a motor that sold fairly well in south wales years ago.they made a really unusual sound as i remember?

im sure they were air cooled■■? as when we had heavy snow one year i remember my dad working all over xmas clearing snow with the council?

vandaboy, the v6 ?hp, v8 232 and v10 310 were all air cooled and had a distinctive note.
