South Wales Hauliers sixties and seventies onwards (Part 1)

This lorry was left like this all weekend waiting for the fitters to turn up

This is why shes leaning

here’s the remains of a well used marathon, taken at the back of the yard at port talbot, the final resting place for every leyland marathon that joint’s ran, after they had finished with them they were ■■■■■

two of my least favourite of joints tractors,a 4000 series foden and 92m “hair dryer” scania.

ron howells queing to weigh out in belgium after loading bricks in e235 vep.

[albu

graham with our GIPO mobile crusher on loaded up ready to leave Pant Quarry in Ewenny

Crynant Plant This is the plastic pig i drove for 10 months up and down the country but mainly the centre of London this is a 50 X 12 office i collected from newport on the way home on a 40ft ex tautliner trailer, there was 20ft from the last axle to the back of the cabin and wasn`t very good to pull as it snaked a bit

Tipping a wide load of pre fabricated re-bar in portbury docks

think the pig was a bit dwarfed by the car transporter leaving portbury docks

John
ps Smallwood this weekend its a good rally and getting big now.are you out with Pete.

That ‘Joints’ Marathon just needs the middle bit spraying orange, ‘Oswald Ingham’ in black on the doors and it would be on the Tate & Lyle sugar tank job from Freightliner Longsight into Trafford Park :open_mouth: :unamused:   5 loads a day and a cab full of sugar especially if you were into making home brew beer & wine

Hiya …I’am been very serious now .i worked for a firm in Buxton who had just payed a few bob for 12 ex wardels ERF’s and two marathons.
well i was the longest serving driver and said could i have the B series with a 250 ■■■■■■■■ the boss said you can have VED that had a 290
■■■■■■■ with a 13 speed fuller and the high cab sleeper(not bad you think) problem was that VED had a door missing no drivers seat
no air lines and a head light missing the boss said you can rob one of the day cab lorries to sort yours out. you can have them good remoulds
to put on the drive axel if you want wow wee. that truck turned out to be one of the most fantastic trucks i drove. it was only
5 years old and still had a MOT.
