Hi all, today i went up to Margam park where Scania was doing a promotion i was lucky enough to have the opportunity to take this 620 R series out for a test drive and what a tool it is to, it was only when my mate Alan Cruise who took me out explained it had 28 ton on her back i appreciated how well went, Alan also gave me some pics to share with my trucknet Buddies
hi chris,
i can see that r620 with seabourneās name on it. they do a special edition black pearl,a mate of mine has had one on demo. and fell in love with it,shame it was 125,000 euro list price, that would take some paying back these days!
regards andrew
hi Andy, my view on Scania was fadeing i thought they had lost the plot since the 500- 3 series but what a truck that 620 was today, the gear change was quick,i had heard reports of it being crap compared to volvoās i shift, but 28 ton was effortless fairplay, steve seabourne can get the check book out cheers Chris.

hi chris,
yes thatās what my mate in belgium told me,they are a proper two pedal now, just like volvo i shift.the only 620ās i have driven are all on the r series so have a clutch pedal to pull away and stop.
regards andrew

i was asked recently what had happened to sal 513r. g.e. keedwell bought it from one of his brothers.seen here at keedwellās pyle yard in 1996.this rare beast is still (mostly) at the rear of the yard in ākit formā.i believe one of the few original hhtās built is being restored somewhere? anyone know anything??
hi all,
back on page 24 of the south wales thread i posted this picture above.i took that picture back in april 1996,when pyle based g.e. keedwell bought this hht from his brother norman.these rare machines were built in the 70ās by heanor haulage in derbys.the photo below was taken in keedwellās pyle yard today.keedwell tells me he intends to restore this hht.the original detroit has been replaced with a 14 litre scania v8 and the f89 cab has been scrapped and a 2 series scania cab now sits in itās place.as can be seen in these photoās below, the past 14 years have taken their toll.
Was hoping to see the HHT looking all restored and shiney red, looks like theres a lot of work to be done there. Hopefully it will get done, itād be good to have some of those preserved.

Just so as you donāt lose the will to live Andrew I thought I had better give you a flash of inspiration with a shot of OJM480L in the Paper Mill at Beetham with what would be probably one of its first re-loads of pulp back to the Mill it would be virtually brand new Jan 73ā Cheers Dennis.
