Hi Andrew,
Another batch of nostalgic pics, good to see.
Cheers Dave.
thanks dave, hereâs some of joints from many years ago.ony 204r was the first sed. atki. they bought, driven from new by warwick gittins.
kcy 390p was driven from new by long serving driver, billy âthe capâ hathaway.
ron howells seen here with mwn 66x,ronâs son mike who was brought up with lorries is also a driver and looks at trucknet regularly.
jointâs ran many marathons over the years,i canât remember who had this one new,but whoever it was itâs guaranteed it was worked very hard.
My father drove for DP Williams son Kieth Williams ammanford who run a fleet of MAN artic and rigid bulkers does anyone have photos of these trucks also Lyn Thomas of pontardulias all long gone great to see the cardiff transport photos
as monty python once said, and now for something completley different.owner driver philip petreyans lives in merelbeke near ghent in belgium.however phil can speak excelent english and works with several welshmen running regularly to the uk out of a forwarders in ghent, prior to that he was on the steel for many years,he loaded out of all of the south wales steel works regularly and has many good friends including meyself in and around south wales,as i have told him many times we consider him to be belgian welsh.philâs fh16 660 is pictured here in the spring of 2008 when he came to see me to have some paintwork carried out.the fh is now sold and has been replaced with a very swish scania.
notice the welsh dragon on the trailer.
les boon loaded with coil for germany.
t.s.rees are a long established quarry owning and transport concern.every senior member of the south wales transport industry has got a sammy rees tale to tell.they never sold anything, all the fleet has always been bought and paid for and although they donât run as many trucks now, they are still very much alive and kicking.during the summer 0f 1996 a mate of mine mentioned to me in our local pub that he had been instructed by sammy rees to go into his site in cornelly and cut everything up.before that happened i went in there with my camera.everything you see next had the gas axe.they even found an old jaguar car, that got weighed in as well.

Could spend a fortnight camped at that place, would never have tired at wandering around those old girls, wouldânt get much peace from the old lady though, i suppose i could always give her a few bob and send her to the shops, ah peace.

hi pete359(Andrew) i remember looking through TS REES,S yard with Ken Duke,Ralph Jone,s fitter those trucks didnt seem so bad then but of coarse that WAS 20, 25 years ago when we were boys mate i was thin and i had hair welldone AGAIN MATEâŚ
Hello everyone, great picâs again.
B series Paul, that Rotherwas Renault was in Oakleys colours, did the brothers go their seperate ways? I had a lift with in an Oakleys marathon from Gilwern to Reads in Rhymney back in 1981. The driver moaned all the way, apparantly not one of the best outfits to work for.
Andrew, saw your pete on BLB last week. Those photos Gyles Carpenter takes are always spot on, looks as if it was a good day in Gloucestershire. The following day, my Jan T&D arrived, and covers the story of project Peterbilt, just brilliant. Fairly soon you will be so famous, we will have to call you Sir Andrew! lol.
Central Florida is a long way from Rhymney Heads of The Valley, and it was 25 years ago this week I first arrived here in Orlando.
Thanks to Dave the Renegade for starting this site, and everyone who has contributed to make it a success.
It allows me to keep in touch with the old days, and current times and trends.
Best wishes to all for a prosperous 2010.
Regards Paul
