South Wales Hauliers sixties and seventies onwards (Part 1)

Good pics Andrew, looking at that last one it appears load capacity it governed more by the size of sheet you have rather than the trivial things such as axle weights or truck size.
Neil.

Hi Neil,
They don’t worry about trivial things like gross weight  this empty underfloor man was was coupling up to this fully loaded drag

Hi Andrew, Neil and all, that is just dangerous.
Great pics there, make Rowly drule. I love the hats and sun glasse’s, nothing like being on tour , be it trucks, rugby or any other reason to party.( that’s American for having a good time).
Compared to South Wales Boys or Girls they do not know, what the word means.

Regards to all Paul.

A ā€˜vintage’ shot of John of Walls recovery trying out his air bags, notice the lack of any hi viz gear or hard hats etc on anyone and his son supervising the job.
Neil.

Hi tony,
Thanks for the words :sunglasses: .this beast of an sk was at the dock loaded with a fairly large tunnel machine.that 3553 merc would have worked hard moving that lot around Crete, the whole island is very mountainous.

I don’t think gah 1950 would put that load on a tandem

Does anyone remember the south wales hauliers, such as Entress, Morfa Transport, Blue Line, Slver Roadways etc
This thread is now in the capable hands of pete 359 ( Andrew ) ex Joint Motorways driver.

hello yes i remember all those old hauliers, a couple more to add from Gower,Llewelyn G gordon, Austin Jones, John Jones, Porteynon Transport,

hello andrew,
well now,mr vosa would really think his boat had come in if he copped that one,the unit would be well up for the job in hand but the trailer tyres really give the show away.
graham. :open_mouth:

hi graham,
as you may have guessed, this is the one i mentioned on the phone the other day.

hello andrew.
there is some serious weight on that trailer and i would take a rough guess around 60/70 ton,it looks very much that it has the dreaded air suspension as well, the constuction of the bed looks a very robust design as there is no deflection in evidence, :astonished: .
