Hi Dennis
The driver had literally just coupled up and was still in the cab.thats why the axle is up.i would say that gvw would be 40 plus tonne? 188 complete engines in sturdy steel racks would soon mount up.the unit and trailer must be 15/6 tonnes.wouldn’t you agree Dennis?

Pleased about that Dave, sizeable outfit though but methinks not quite
the size of Suttons of St Hellens either, just pleased I never worked for
Stobbie i wouldn’t dare have a drink with all those motors I’d never be
able to find what I was driving the next day, just have to wait and see
what was left when the wise boys had all set off, just watch I’ll dare bet
I’d get lumbered with a trailer load of cream cakes and with them not
being able to be roped and sheeted they would be spread from Carlisle
to wherever, get a start and the sack all on the first day, pleased about
that, couldn’t be doing with a faceless lot like that, sorry you South Wales
lads I’m spoiling your great thread with my daft stuff, sorry.

If that flatbed or platform trailer as they used to be called, wasn’t in the frame it would look like a double set up.
I used to pull Florida Turnpike double 48 ft tandem axle trailers with tandem axle dolly’s. Once you get up to speed they are ok, but overtaking can be tricky, especially if you are passing another set of doubles.
