I have quite literally just been told of this,shocking news.dave the renegade started this thread before I took over it in 2009,very sorry to be told this.R.i.p. Mate…

Sad news indeed, I thought Dave had gone a bit quiet of late and my deepest condolences to Tracey and all the family, Dave and I did have our differences of opinion over the years but we both exchanged PM’s as and when the occasion demanded and I admired Dave’s resilience in spite of the tragic accident that cruelly cut short his active life at such a young age but he sure was one of us in every way and commanded our respect regardless of his personal circumstances. He will be sadly missed on the site along with the many up to the minute shots he took while on his travels. All my Best to Tracey

I just read about Dave sad news ,lot of good people going and the bad stay on earth ,something wrong somewhere rip Dave

This is sad news. I followed this site soon after Dave started it. He had a passion for lorries, and road transport.

Such sad news about the loss of Dave, he certainly was an inspiration on here and added value with his knowledgable contribution.

R.I.P. Dave you will be missed, and deepest condolences to the Family.

Hiya Andrew ,now I am confused,I’ve been to beddau to cwm coke with my dad ,I thought phurnacite plant was at mountain ash ? I’ll ask my mate on B j waters tomorrow it’s his territory round the valleys ,also I didn’t manage to get hold of your friend about the mudflap ,thanks Dan .

Hi Dan, There is or was a Phurnicite Plant at Mountain Ash, I used to load there for Ashington in the 70s , Regards Larry.

All gone now Larry most of the polluted ground from there is buried in a tip somewhere nr Middlesbrough.

ah , mountain ash furnacite plant , many many hours of my life spent in the queues waiting to load there . mind you if you were overnighted the miners welfare was second to none .dave .

I thought I had that arse about face when I typed it!a few here from a “run out” today organised by trucknet member Lynxman.i took these when they were travelling through porthcawl.i was very kindly invited though ours sons rugby game and the merc being in bits,meant I couldn’t attend.
