hi all,
mike stubbs from porthcawl kindly gave me these four images,at work earlier today.they are retrieved from mike’s onboard camera,taken whilst queing northbound near junction 12 of the m6 on good friday.looks like my old f88 GFC 500N has been sold to mccormick from ireland :sunglasses: .

That A e c was a mercury it was run by David John David one of the son,s that went on his own .he had an artic before his father. dai cap

thanks for the information,i wasn’t aware that one of the sons had done that? i remember,many years after, colin o’brien,a regular caller at joint’s yard. what relation was he to the david family?as i remember it,back then,he was the boss at blue line.here are two more from my good mate gareth thomas from pembs.evans and williams of letterston in their unforgettable fleet livery,pure class imo……

Hiya,
We only ever pulled single axle trailers with the little Mercury’s, if tandems needed
moved we used the Mandator’s or an equivalent unit Mercury’s only ever pulled the
single axle trailers a fully loaded tandem would put them well over the top whack.

Nice looking Atkinson ,would look better with alluminium mudgaurds off the body on the 2nd steer though .
