Lovely to see our old N-reg. That pic must be around 1999 as the trailer was sprayed in 2000 by Poacher and Davies. Also I know I was driving that lorry that day because you can see my stash of bananas on the dashboard. Thanks Pete.

Things have changed since the N-reg days

Great shot that Andrew, motors like that were still running around S.Wales when I used run down there on the Octopus in the late 60’s, they mainly ran on locals by then but were still earning their keep. Cheers Dennis.

Small world…

Evans bros of llandybie? ec14 will know :sunglasses: .

Definately Evans Bros yard, still looks the same today except now with Scania’s taking pride of place.

Dear oh dear Andrew, those Rosser motors were “knackered” in 1966/7 as my now long gone mate Eric on the Octopus used to say “Them old motors want putting out of their misery and scrapping” and your telling me they were still working in the 80’s!! I realise that you South Wales Lads are --shall we say—very careful financially, but running motors for this length of time is nothing short of cruelty !! even Joints didn’t inflict that kind of longevity on their motors but then again the Drivers of yesteryear were a superior breed    Cheers Dennis.

hi dennis,
your are again, dead right mate.those rosser aec’s were well past their sell by date, long before they were retired.though tbf the brs had alot of use from their old 8 leggers.the older generation of drivers were a completely different breed to the modern day logistics techinicians…

Hiya,
This method of fleet numbering (two letters identifying the depot and then the
fleet number) didn’t come into being until this old girl “was an old girl”.
thanks harry, long retired.
