I remember the firm well because when I was a kid a family friend worked for them for many years in their workshops in the abbey, where they ran a lot of their plant.they also had at least one bonneted Mack.this Bedford Tm photo source is unknown.
Hi all, Andrew William Press that’s a name from the past for sure.
Rowly, hope you are mobile and able to make Gaydon. Best wishes to everyone going, have a great time at the show.
I was due to fly out to New Zealand next week, but had to delay the trip until next February. Tried to get an extra trip to the U.K. but couldn’t swing it. Work is slow right now, couldn’t risk not having a job to come back too. Next year perhaps!
Regards Paul
I drove that ERF of Jacksons at times when it was new and owned by Thamesdown Glass Recycling

Hi all, just stopping us hitting page two.
Everyone has probably been busy at the Retro Show.
my name is terry evans everyone knew me as butch and when norman bailey had this i had a brand new aec mercury tractor unit with western brs out of ferry rd cardiff i used to try and keep up with norman obviously i couldnt keep up flat out 66mph great days
Telekonsteve:
I’m trying to clarify the details on this motor.JDW136N transcon
Norman Bailey drove it, it was the first transcon in s. Wales and as far as I can gather had the ■■■■■■■ 273bhp engine, does anybody know anymore details please
Would it have a 9 or 13 fuller in, I bought the bleeding book on transcons and I’m still none the wiser. Peter the ex fitter at glyn John says their old transcons had the 273 engine and later ones 290s
