Are Cogent still down llanwern ? I used to be there often ,by the auction they were after the Bsc gate .

Good grief, LLanwern By Pass, The last time I was in LLanwern was 1964 tipping fire bricks at Richard Thomas Baldwins Spencer Works IIRC, the bricks were from Hennry Fosters Brickworks at Backworth Nr Newcastle upon Tyne. , It was a regular job when I drove for Smiles for Miles, I used to reload from a chap called Mr Lewis who had his office in LLanwern, Quite often it was steel coils for the Singer Sewing Machine Works on Dumbarton Rd Glasgow, & Then. reload with Turners Asbestos Sheets from their works nearby from a firm called Air Road & Water Ltd. Now this firm allways asked if you wanted any money just in case you were short of cash, Of course they just deducted it from the price of the return load, It was common practice in the 50/60s ear, I never used this offer myself as I allways made sure that I had a reserve few bob in my wallet, Just in case as & good old friend of mine used to tell me , allways have enough in you wallet to pay for your train fare home if the worst comes to the worst you will be able to get home, Happy Days , Regards Larry.
