And I ā– ā– ā– ā–  well think so Dai Bach !!   As long as you keep putting a few ā€œgoodā€ motors on among the Fodens you won’t get any ā€œearacheā€ off me Dai,more the merrier keep 'em coming mate! The old B/W shots are the best, even the Foden ones, just so long as I don’t have to drive one,Foden that is   Cheers Dennis.

Couldn’t resist Dai ! here’s a b/w shot of the finest 8 wheeler ever to run into South Wales ! I’m sorry but I didn’t carry a camera during the time I was in S.Wales on the Octopus if I had there could have been some cracking shots, tipping in The Abbey, loaded with tin-plate at Velindre and Trostre and many shots of us in Eagles Bush works (and in the Social Club hic! hic!) cheers Dennis.

I’ve got to come clean Dai !! that b/w shot is an imposter it never hardly got into S.Wales as it only pulled a trailer for a short time when it was new then it ran solo. Now this coloured shot is THE Octopus JEO 192 that was the regular in S.Wales, shot here parked up in Duke St. Barrow the little lad peeping around the headboard was the son of the driver who got the one in the b/w shot new. They kept JEO 192 pulling a trailer because it had a driver that could handle one the Great Eric Postlethwaite he could put the trailer just about anywhere without ever having to put it on the nose!he could reverse faster than many artic drivers! Those slingers in the Abbey used to watch in amazement when Eric used to back the trailer into some of those loading bays.I once took 10bob off a slinger who bet that he couldn’t reverse the trailer into this one very bad bay, can’t recall the number,so I said just watch then boyo!! in goes the trailer ready to unload the signode, and the slinger says ā€œI’d never have believed it if I’d not seen it with my own eyesā€ His mates on the bay had a right laugh and made him cough up the ten bob so they did. Cheers Dennis.

Boyo …aint that racist Bewick.Daibootsy where do you keep getting em…

Hi all, well Dai I do remember Crown Cork, their trucks as I remember were BRS contract vehicles. Normally orange, but I don’t remember the truck in the photo as I’m just a young one. Fifty Five tomorrow, so a little before my time. posting.php?mode=quote&f=35&p=1790987#

The Foden with the dumpmaster type body was a demo unit as it was made by Powell Duffryn Engineering. They later done roll on/off units also.

Dennis, great shots of Brady’s motor.

Regards Paul.

Why have the octopuses got different bumpers
